July - December Season 2007

I am pleased to bring you our autumn season 2007 with both old favourites and new faces in equal measure.

Back by enthusiastic demand are the ever popular Sunset Café Stompers who will be playing a festive concert to warm whatever the weather brings by December. Also returning to the Arts Centre is Fat Cat Theatre Company with another fantastic family puppet show for children of all ages- big and small!

I am especially pleased to be bringing a Family Classical Concert to add to our brilliant classical season. Unlock the Baroque promises to be a wonderful adventure into the world of classical music - highly interactive, fun and accessible for children and adults alike. Book early as I think this one will be popular!

The Galleries continue to offer new and exciting work this season, including our Annual Summer Open which celebrates the wealth of talent there is in the region and is an opportunity for people to see the work of both established and emerging artists together in one place.

With workshops covering all mediums and age groups I am sure that there will be something that will excite and enthuse you and we look forward to welcoming you to the Arts Centre – both old favourites and new faces alike!

Welcome

Help us make your Arts Centre the best it can be!

Welcome to our new look arts centre! We are pleased to have been awarded a Lottery Grant from Awards for All that means we now have new café furniture and new upholstered concert chairs giving you more comfort at our events. Why not come and try for yourself at the Mike Denham concert in January where we will be using the new furniture for the first time!

We have two fantastic seasons of music at the Meeting House with our Jazz Nights and our Classical Concert series. Both of them offer top quality musicians who are expert in their field. Remember, you can book all of them in advance and save money on the ticket prices.

I am also pleased to have a children’s puppet show and workshop this season for our younger visitors, as well as workshops to entertain them in the school holidays.

The Galleries continue to show exciting and inspiring work in all art forms by locally and nationally acclaimed artists. One highlight this season includes a retrospective of the work of Anne Bruce who was closely linked to the arts centre from its very beginnings and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.

Finally, a big thank you to everyone who supports the arts centre - volunteers, customers and performers – we would not be here without you!
